Lent Special: I Love You But I Have to Let You Go

In the past years, I've always had excuses not to fast.
When you're in Nursing school, fasting will never be part of your vocabulary.

Now that I am no longer a student thus no excuses not to fast anymore to keep them brain cells well-fed,
I am giving up FIVE WHOPPING FOOD LOVES of my life other than the usual what-is-asked-for
pork and beef.

I know it's quite impossible to give up shopping for forty days so I opted to give up a superfluity of my eternal food cravings instead. Here they are:

1. GASP! Ice Cream (with all them colorful and nyum-mey toppings)

2. DOUBLE GASP! Hotdogs.

One thing you have to know about me:
I DIG HOTDOG-ON-STICK!
Especially the ones sold in random stalls in malls or in the streets.
I dunno but they're always so juicier and yummier and yummier and yummier! Forreallydou.

3. Pork and Beef Siomai
(with the exemption of Chicken Siomai! haha.. tumawad pa talaga eh, noh?)

I am not so pihikan when it comes to food. Okay, I am but not that TAD. In fact, I love kwek-kwek and mumurahing siomai (3 for 10php) so much! Well, that was when I was still in CDO.

I dunno but ever since I came here, street foods always seem so ewwy. Perhaps when you're in a foreign town away from home, the street foods you used to love becomes ewwy in a snap! I think street foods in my beloved CDO are safer and cleaner. Haha... stupid and biased, I know but CDO's street foods will always be something I won't give up for the world! Forreallydou.

4. Pizza.
New York Classic aka the last meal I shared with the boyfriend. We munched on this plate of yum hours before I left.
I was thinking of giving up pasta but then I knew I'd eventually cheat sooner or later especially that I've recently fallen in love with Jollibee's Chicken and Mushroom Pasta so there, I decided to give up Pizza instead so I won't have to cheat anymore.

5. TRIPLE GASP! Chocolates.

Okay, I admit it, I just cheated a while ago. This pic was taken a few hours back. But I promise, after this will be nada! I just had to get these endorphin boosters in my system coz work and review today really stressed me big time! After all, these two Lindt lovies where given by our good neighbor so who was I to say no to such yummy blessings, right? pfft. lame excuses. hah!

Other than giving up the five whopping loves of my life, I have also opted to go for the
"1 Full, 2 Half" Diet meaning 1 Full Meal and 2 Half Meals a day only.

In my case, I only consume  coffee in the morning, one full meal for lunch
then no rice and one serving of fish/veggies/chicken for dinner.

How about you?
What have you given up for Lent?

mwahs and tsups,
EU.
