Post Pay Day Shopping: Because I Need to be Sane

Adult life is crazy, don't you think? All them pressures of responsibilities, jobs, all the legal papers you need to work on... oh Peter Pan, can you just please pleassssse take me back to when I was a toddler? sigh

Amidst all the minor and major upheavals in life, there will always be someone or in the case of this post, something to anchor you back to the safety of your own sanity.

In my case, BOOKS ARE MY VALIUM and they never fail to calm me which is why one fateful Sunday, I only munched on some large fries and a bottle of water for lunch just so I can go on a book splurge.

HEAR: A MUST READ! A MUST READ! Did I say A MUST READ? Oh it is A MUST READ!
There, have I emphasized that enough?

When I'm not in the arms of Albom or Coelho, I am in the arms of Koontz. You see, when I crave for anything spiritual or inspirational, the man's names are either Mitch and Paulo. But when I wanna be thrilled, there is only one name to do just the thing - Dean Koontz. So when I get all paranoid thinking about alien invasions, lunatic assasins and beastly ghosts coming at me, Koontz is the one to point fingers at.

Anything recommended by Oprah, I READ. And you should too!

Of course, Chic Flicks will always be on my reading list.
I find the humor really err... FUNNY of course! LOL

I think it is already obvious from the name of my blog and from the many many many blog posts I have about books how much of a bookworm I really am.

In fact, I love books so much that I can live through one whole week (or maybe even a month) of not going outside just as long as I have the company of my fave authors, a red pen and a neon highlighter.

The red pen is for vocabulary words.

The neon highlighter is for quotable quotes.

I highlighted this one simply because I kind of find it funny and then I realized that it is true. I never thought Mother Nature has Bipolar Disorder. And yeah, I guess Koontz is right. With the way the weather is so crazy humid this minute then followed by a downpour the next minute, I am convinced that yes,
Mother Nature has Bipolar Disorder.

Books will always, ALWAYS be my favorite sanity anchors.
What's yours? ;)

mwahs and tsups,
